Freisian X mare: Unusual!

Found this on Youtube. They say a good horse is never a bad color, but I think this mare's coloring makes her pretty special. I don't know the owners.

  1. The video says that she is a friesian cross - wonder if she is crossed with a paint?

  2. She is a friesian paint cross. I was looking around on equine.com a few months back and she was featured. Breathtaking mare, really. But she is not a true friesian, I know that.

  3. Hi all, Thanks for catching the error. I think Friesians have to be all black, no? I found this video a long time ago and had it on the back burner for posting. Didn't really review it closely before posting.

I just love her, not only for her color but her "can do" forward attitude. She looks like a BLAST.

  4. Yes, Friesians should be all black. (No white on legs, and the maximum of a small star in head is the only white they are allowed). (A friesian is my dream horse lol)

She is a Friesian Cross. She has quite a bit of a *drool* factor. She is priced at $20,000. (They have an ad for her on equine.com). If I didn't have my Arabian, I would soooo be interested in her for dressage.

  5. I know, doesn't she??
Actually, there is *one* Friesian stallion that is a blood bay, called Fire Magic or something. And he preforms somewhere.

I'm not saying that there isn't... But if he is purebred friesian there is a good chance he doesn't have breeding rights. By that I mean his foals are unregisterable. Another possbility is that he stays outside during the day and is 'bleached'. My brother had a black gelding once. When he was out during the day and he bleached out and looked like a bay (He was a true black). But If he was stalled at day and turned out at night he stayed black.

Ok. I searched for him and found him. I see nothing spectacular about him... somthing I wouldn't want to bred my mare to atleast... but that is MY opinion.

  7. I saw this mare a while back. That face dipped in white paint really grabbed me.
