Xbox ad -- The new creep factor in TV ads

This is not horse-related but I thought I'd share my reaction to this TV ad. Is anyone else creeped out? The image of a kid's head being hollowed out is just repulsive to me -- Daumeresque.

Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.

And the boy's eyes and expression are so vacant. I actually had to look away the second time I saw this commercial. There are a few commercials that I find a little to high on the ick factor -- the one about carpet cleaning with the dog scooting across the floor, and the mom's shriek? WHAT ad agency thought that up???

There, I feel better now. Y'all have a nice day ;-)

  1. Don't get me started, there are a slew of really stupid ad concepts airing out there right now that I can't stand. They think it's a clever concept but it comes off as lame to me. And what really frosts my apples is there are people getting paid huge money for this garbage.

Some of my creep factor ads? That Burger King guy, That Quaker Oats guy, the ad you mentioned here and those really dopey Volkswagon ads with Brooke Shields.

  4. Solitaire - The Quaker Oats and Burger King guy, creeepy, weird, what are they thinking?

Yeah I saw this ad on TV the other day, thought it was very strange. I hope this stuff isn't making people want to buy the system or the games.

  5. Leave it to Microsoft ad/marketing folks to think that whatever agency came up with that campaign thought it was good!

  6. Terrible UK advert at the moment -" kwik fit hypnotist" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_aLQvSro7A (sorry not sure how to do links in the comments section) - I just want to hit the child, it says SO much about children in the UK these days. (I'm not very maternal!!!!)
