Last night I was talking with a friend about Totilas, and we wondered aloud about "what he's really like to ride," "what's he like around the barn," etc.. By sheer coincidence, Horse Hero sent me this video interview -- Fiona Price poses just those sorts of questions to Edward Gal, with Totilas in his stable rug behind them.
Can I put in a plug for Horse Hero? Their videos are informative and entertaining, and registering is free. I'm a member, and can view all the videos -- the subscription fee is totally worth it. Fiona Price gives a relaxed, fun interview, and she has an intuitive sense of what people want to know. Kudos to Horse Hero!

What I love about both Totilas and Ravel is that they look so relaxed and supple. None of the frantic, "I can't stand still" or "I'm just about ready to explode."
ReplyDeleteSome controversy about how the horse is trained, but I'll put all that aside to marvel at his beautiful temperament. Really amazing to see.
Thank you for sharing this. What a wonderful way to start my day. I could hear Maria Gunther saying, "Kiss your horse! Kiss your horse!"
ReplyDeleteI thought you had to subscribe to Horse Hero now. I love that website, but cannot afford the subscription--about $30 American. Do you subscribe now?
Correction: horsehero.com is no longer a free service. If you wish to view the full videos, you must pay a yearly subscription of 15 pounds. It's certainly a deal but not free.
ReplyDeleteI've edited my wording to be more clear -- registration is free, but to view all videos there is an annual fee. Compared to some others like dressageclinic.com it's a deal. Admittedly the kind of coverage isn't quite the same.
