Bob did not accompany me home to Indiana/Kentucky for Christmas :-(. That's another story -- an annoying but undramatic episode in our marriage, I suppose. Being separated over the holidays meant that we were in contact only by phone, and we called each other several times a day.
Well, I felt no small amount of satisfaction on the afternoon of Christmas day, when he called me excitedly to report that the RFDTV channel was airing a dressage competition. I tuned in, and as we talked I realized that he was actually watching it. Victory! On that note...
What a swashbuckling start!

Now THAT is funny!!
ReplyDeleteI actually know a number of husband who do not ride yet are very perceptive about dressage.
Hope you give yours a big hug for taking the time to watch that competition without your prompting. There's a level of love there that deserves some special recognition. *S*
Awesome! I made my mom watch as she is visiting from Philadelphia (where I'm from) and want her to come watch a lesson. She used to coming to watch me jump when I was younger so I wanted her to be prepared at the contents of our dressage lesson. I.E. watching paint dry.... :)
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of repeats on RFDTV, but I record it every night from 3-4AM (Pacific Time). They have covered Dressage trials, show jumping, eventing, pony shows, draft horses and driving. Definitely fills a niche for those of us who do not not ride western. Now if only I can find a channel that covers steeplechasing in the USA.
ReplyDeleteOMG - I laughed hysterically. Grass grown, cement setting, bread rising....Yep, my husband's eyes glaze right over. Give him a nice exciting GOLF game on TV any day!
ReplyDeleteNever had a husband...but this is so funny.
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of how I feel about it. I think it's an inner journey working with horses, something that innocent bystanders should be spared from. And it's dressage, western pleasure, training, despooking.
ReplyDeleteIt's paint drying.
But I do like the sword. :D
And I have a sudden craving for french bread.
