Plainer headed, but I love the outline and the steady contact; the rider is awesome, check out the posture and those hands-that-never-move at the trot. What do y'all think?

Nice mare: different but nice

Awesome rider, but I think I prefer the 1st horse.
ReplyDeleteI like how she's being ridden best, but like her least.
ReplyDeleteHer back/loin are an odd shape. I'd like to see her with no saddle to get an idea of her entire topline shape. Maybe a roached back slightly, maybe not - but she doesn't have much movement there. She does appear to be making more out of her conformation than a typical video, and I much prefer the riding she's getting to the typicaly auction rider type riding in sales videos. I'm not speaking of the lovely seat and hands this rider appears to have, which I do appreciate greatly, but that she doesn't appear to be getting pushed into showing off gaits to hint at potential but instead seems to be in gaits with which she is comfortable.
I suspect with a less skilled rider her canter could get quite lateral, especially to the right.
Pretty mare, and love love love that rider. I wish I looked that quiet!
ReplyDeletehorse is gorgeous and has lovely fluid movements... the rider reminds me of a robot though....lol
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous horse!
Good riding. Lovely mare. Not a fan of the walk, but she certainly looks relaxed and happy.
ReplyDeleteWhite leg wraps, yes - white bell boots, no. SO distracting! That aside, I wasn't super impressed - she is nice but not amazing. Her trot was flashy but struck me as disconnected, and her canter was very heavy. I think she's going to be limited in how far she can go.
ReplyDeleteI personally love the mare's plain and clunky head (I'm a sucker for that...and big floppy mare ears, too), and I LOVE the rider. Absolutely amazing seat.
ReplyDeleteThe mare is a decent mover, and the only thing I have any issue with is that I personally would like to see her stretch down into contact a little more during the "stretchy walk" segment at the end.
Other than that, I really like her a lot!
That rider is STELLAR! Perfect posting, perfect hands, perfect seat and legs!!
ReplyDeleteOh, the mare is quite swell too ;)
Steps in her own prints at the extended walk, beautiful action. Definitely a dream horse!
ReplyDeletePretty. Yup, the rider has the ultimate elastic elbows - should've put those on my Christmas list!
ReplyDeleteGreat ride on a really nice horse.
ReplyDeleteAfter you mentioned the rider, I had a hard time letting my focus drift to the horse. I liked the level of his hands, which were very quiet as the rest of his body moved with the horse. His legs especially moved nicely with the horse. I watched the little touches with the spur that he gave to keep the horse connected but not enough to elicit a tail swish or tension. This guy is extremely skilled. He overshadowed the mare!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the rider. Horse looks loose and swingy, but I want to see her more collected.
ReplyDeleteLove this rider and the horse is very nice too.
ReplyDeleteWatching him I can get that feeling that your forearms are long enough to hold the rings of the bit in your fingers.
His posting technique is to die for.
