Thank you for sharing this! It gave me some ideas for settings to try with my camera for horse shots. I kind of specialize in concert photography and have trouble with anything in daylight! Now that the horses are moved to our house, I can walk out and practice any time I want, though. :)
Ironically, I was just talking to a sports photographer this week. When he started, another pro told him to always have lots of film on hand (Before digital photography) because it would take hundreds of shots to get just one good one. Sometimes he lucked out, shooting at just the right moment, but more often it would be those hundreds to get one winner.
Animals are especially tricky as they just don't pose. These are some really nice results.
