So normally we look at dressage talent, but this jumping video merits a look, I think. My thoughts? Built a little downhill, and a little dive-y at the jumps, but overall I'm impressed!
You kind of wonder what prompted this, doncha?

I think this gal is incredbily athletic even if built down hill. Would love to see her auto changes, though. :-D
ReplyDeleteWow, that's actually quite impressive. I'm sure I'd be on my face in the dirt trying to land after the first tiny vertical. =P
ReplyDeleteWhat, you never played "horse show" as a kid? She is obviously at her preformace test.
ReplyDeleteI am exhausted just watching! Rather amazing athletic feat if you ask me. She's getting over some fair height too, considering.
ReplyDeleteGood bascule, but I do agree about being a bit downhill. *S*
still laughing... would love to hear the story behind this one!
ReplyDeleteIt must have been a deleted scene from war horse where the young girl is teaching him how to jump. Her horse is probably in the middle watching and learning.
ReplyDeleteThis looks fun. I used to do something similar to this growing up in my backyard. Good times (with a few injuries).

LOL @ sis, good call.
ReplyDeleteI vaguely remember doing that a lot as a young child.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't nearly as graceful as this girl, though!
I remember playing "horse" when I was a kid, but we were always relegated to the family room or back yard. Must be nice to have your very own real life indoor arena to go gallivanting around in. She has some pretty good height on her fences. Wow. *grin*
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I think her front end is too light of bone to stand up to much of this sort of thing. There are several times where she really hustles to get her hind end down because her forelimbs can't take the strain...
ReplyDeleteMy separated shoulder (right side) and my rotator cuff (left side) are hurting simultaneously while watching that.
ReplyDeleteGetting older ... HUMBUG!
reminds me of some of the exercises in Eckhart Meyner's book. I love the one where there's pole about 6" off the ground, you're to "canter up to it," and jump over while doing a 360-degree revolution midair.
ReplyDeleteYeah, right. Like THAT's going to happen. I got the entire girls' PE class banned from jumping low hurdles on the track because I was such a klutz. Didn't hurt myself but broke two or three of the hurdles. The track coach was NOT happy.
I have to wonder if this was an exercise to help her 'feel' the course? Go through it herself, so when she rides it she understand more what cues the horse needs? Her striding was good, but I do think I saw a missed lead.
