This is a horse I stumbled across on Youtube -- a freely available public video, I did not ask the owner if I could post it -- so please refrain from any criticism you might have, out of courtesy. Just enjoy this lovely boy -- his jumping is so exuberant!

Exuberance: I love this horse

Boy, do I love a pretty paint/pinto--whatever the difference is.
ReplyDeleteHe surely does get some "air time," and she is an excellent rider to stay with him so well. Bet is a dynamo on the cross country.
Thanks so much for posting such a wonderful example of horse and rider really doing the job well--dressage too!!
Ah! Education on Paint/Pinto.
ReplyDeletePaint is actually a registered breed. Mom and Dad must be Paints, so my Chance would not be eligible even though his mom is a paint, because his dad is a Hanovarian/American Warmblood.
Pinto refers purely to coloring and can be any breed. So you could have a pinto Saddlebred, for example. It would not be a Paint, however.
So, we can be sure this horse is a pinto, but it may not be a Paint.
Either way, I love him/her too.
How adorable! I literally can't ride horses who jump like that - I fall off. But it's so fun to watch, and they look like they're having a great time!
ReplyDeleteDo you have info on the horse at all? I would guess a saddlebred of some sort, which I mean in a positive way as they can be awesome like this, so I'm curious.
Great jumping video! Good, fun find!
ReplyDeleteGreat jumping! Good, fun find!
ReplyDeleteI bet you were searching for images of horses with four tall white socks. You know how you love them ...
ReplyDeleteJean, I believe that to be a Paint, Mum or Dad may also be registered TBs or registered QHs. I have a registered Paint and his mum is listed as a chestnut AQHA mare, so at least that was the rule when he was born! Has the registry changed recently, do you know?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that horse is part saddlebred?
ReplyDeleteBoy, he sure does "boing" over the fences, doesn't he? :-) Looks like he might have missed his calling as an open jumper... plenty of scope there. I would have an extremely difficult time staying with him as well. I think his rider is just LOVELY, with excellent position and hands, and a ramrod straight back (not something I can achieve). Thanks for sharing this neat pair!
ReplyDeleteExuberance is the perfect word -- what a jump! And what a tidy little rider.
ReplyDeleteI'm betting Saddlebred or cross too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely pair! I would love to ride this horse. Though I have never ridden such an airy jumper... Not sure I could stay with him as well as this girl. Fun videos, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think he looks like a saddlebred, too. He also looks like so much fun to ride on the flat and over fences, although I would imagine he takes some getting used to! What springs!
ReplyDeletejenj....looks like you are right. QH or TB on one side is OK, but not other breeds.
ReplyDeleteSo, if my Chance's mom was registered Paint, he could not be registered because Pop was an American Warmblood. But if Dad had been a QH or TB, he could be registered--even though he really doesn't have any patches.
Interesting.
Talk about a horse with some spring in their step!
ReplyDeleteRiding a horse like that takes some talent.
Nice find.
I would imagine she doesn't have rails down often :)
