So here is Tina and CV from yesterday at Gladstone NJ. They scored an 80-something percent and the crowd went wild. Tina herself was overwhelmed and I of course teared up at how she hugged him after her ride. One cool thing I learned from Tina's web site is that her parents were horse trainers in the circus. There are lots of fun family photos on that site -- a really fascinating way of life, and the kind of career that really doesn't exist any more.

Lovely. Every time I watch a Grand Prix test, I marvel at the intelligence demanded of both horse and rider. Certainly, the physical training is essential, but the mental work is equally so. That was an extremely well ridden test, and I loved how relaxed Colecto was...especially in that wonderful walk!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, USA! We are going to have a great team if this pair qualifies. 6
Beautiful. What a lovely pair!!
ReplyDeleteShe has a lovely seat. I saw part of another video from the USEF website--with scores from the judges and the commentator counting the changes ;o)--and Rebecca is correct: Tina and Colecto V ARE a lovely pair. I have a very good feeling about the USA's chances in team and individual medals in dressage at the upcoming Olympics!
ReplyDeleteEvery moment was a pleasure to watch. I loved how soft the horse looked in the extended trot. I am very excited for this pair!
ReplyDeleteI was a bit dumbfounded that the Konyot's circus affliation came as news to anyone, but after a few (senior) moments I realized I probably had an inside track on this as I worked for Barnum and Bailey for a while. Geesh, it's off to "the home" soon!
