At my last show (Sunday the 19th!) I sported a new saddley pad -- the Dura-Tech® V-Free™ Dressage Pad with Tekno-Dri® from Schneiders Saddlery. Show pix and video coming soon!
Regular pads -- even the high wither Dover pad -- seem to pull in weird places -- if a pad looks like it fits on one side, it sits at an odd angle on the other side. When I saw the design of the Dura-Tech® V-Free™ Dressage Pad I had a good feeling about how it would work for Riley. And at $44 why wouldn't I try? It's great fabric, thick but not coarse, and it sits well on Ri's back. It's big enough that I don't need to worry about my saddle sitting over the end of the pad. I was concerned about the seam but it is very soft and -- well, it feels seamless
I'll post photos from our show later this week. How'd it go? Wait and see.
Oh, BTW, this is not a paid ad. I'm truly likin' this pad...

I have this pad - found it several years ago online and decided to give it a try for Keil Bay. It definitely does not pull at the wither and if I'm not using the Thinline sheepskin (my newer favorite for both Keil Bay and Cody) I pull this one out of the stack.
ReplyDeleteI like the looks of the underside of that seam. Nice pad, indeed.
ReplyDeleteOh I LIKEY!!! All my pads shift on my pony mare (high withers, forward girth groove and broodmare belly), so I have been about to the point of desperation. This looks like a winner. Thank you sooo much for posting this!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the pad, but I'm a fan of the V-Free sheets and blankies.
ReplyDeleteI have their Dura-Tech V-Free blankets for my OTTB and am quite pleased with them. Schneiders makes some good stuff and I've been very pleased with everything I've purchased from their owned-brand lines.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Schneider Saddlery and find the Dura-Tech products excellent value AND in the case of blankets and sheets, worth repairing should something "give way." My horse is not high-withered, so this pad would not be something I would consider. Just putting in a good word for SSTack (dot com) ;o)
