Riley and I experienced a miracle -- a weather-related miracle. Our GMO championships were held last weekend, and Ri, loser of shoes, stayed in his (very spacious an dutch-doored) stall for a week during a stretch of heavy rain. The weather on Sunday Oct 7 called for a high of 50 and rain. The thought of showing Ri under those circumstances scared me. Young horse, no turnout, abrupt weather change = DANGER in my book. Well, fortunately the rain held off, and while it was cold there was no wind. Ri was his marvelous sensible self despite the adverse conditions.
The second miracle of the day was this photo. By God, it's a great picture of both of us. I don't remember the last time I looked at a picture of myself and didn't cringe slightly. This one, I like. A lot.
Three cheers for Riley the Sensible and the gods of weather.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture. Formal attire but a nice informal and personal pose. One to treasure, that's for sure.
You both look like stars!
ReplyDeleteYou both look happy and beautiful :) Love it :)
ReplyDeleteAll the stars aligned and look at you two! Riley looks confident and ready to show his stuff, and you look adorable--neat and trim and happy to be where you are. Kudos to you for all your hard work AND to your "support team" ;o)
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, I almost didn't recognize Riley. His face looks so grown up now.
ReplyDeleteThe photo tells the beautiful story of your experience. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else - REALLY nice photo! Glad the weather decided to cooperate as well.
