Trakehner mule!

There is something about a mule's face that I just adore. If I can find a 17H warmblood or TB mule, I'd be so tempted! Crosses of this type are hard to find. Does anyone know of someone who breeds these "sport mules?" Don't try to do a search in Google, or you'll end up looking at a lot of shoes. Here is one -- a Trakehner mule cross. Nice trot AND canter!

  1. I have always loved long-ears! It's part of the reason we ended up with nubian goats, lol! One of these years I'll get a mule, but I think 3 horses is enough, and my geldings ears are almost big enough to qualify him as a mule ;)

  3. I wrote an article about Warmblood Mules for Mules and More Magazine a couple of years ago! I will have a look and see if I can find it. I found that there are no breeders in the US regularly producing warmblood mules, but I'll bet you could lease a nice mare and breed one for yourself . . . . I've been tempted!

  5. I love mules. In fact there was one big boy on Horseclicks a while ago I just loved. Here he is http://www.horseclicks.com/big_stout_draft_cross/horses/332375 "Big Stout Draft Cross for Sale" in Belgrade, Montana.

One thing about the video -you really can't assess an equine while it's being chased around a pen all hollow backed.

  6. Mules are like mares on steroids. If you get one on your side, there is NOTHING you cannot achieve. If, however, you have not been able to convince the mule it has vested interest in being your partner ... better watch out! LOL
