This is one cute horse -- and what nice gaits! I have heard that it's not a bad thing to ask for a flying change once in a while, but I'm not sure why they are asking for it regularly (if this footage is typical of his training). At training level, if he can hang on to a counter canter on the short side, more power to him.

He is very cute and he does have nice gaits. :-) His breeding certainly is interesting!
ReplyDeleteHe moves somewhat like my Friesian x ... so I bet I know exactly how that rider feels. She's probably got calves and seat of steel! These horses are not bred very light-footed. That's the only issue. If you're used to TBs and lighter, European WBs, it feels like the difference between driving a little sporty car and a large, heavy SUV. :D
