I always loved Thelwell ponies. But when you are 5'8" tall in fifth grade, you ain't gonna ride no ponies! On an actual pony my feet would drag the ground, but I recently was given a chance to ride this lovely, lovely horse -- a paint/arab cross -- not a pony, but under 15.2H, and adorably pudgy (his owner calls him "Fatty McButterpants"). He is green but sensitive and sweet. He is green but tolerant. What can I say? I'll be riding him occasionally while his owner nurses a hip issue. Can't believe my good fortune...

He is sooo cute! I'm laughing at Fatty McButterpants. Best name ever!
ReplyDeleteSqueal! He is adorable! I agree with Anon, you look lovely on him!
ReplyDeleteI think you look darling on him. He takes up your leg well. But his gaits must feel tiny after riding Riley.
ReplyDeleteI love this. What a sweet little horse! And, this goes to show that height of horse is not the only factor as far as fit is concerned. His barrel takes up your leg and your light body frame looks very pleasant on him. "Fatty McButterpants" hmm? Haha! Well, we can't all be svelte. :D
