Railbirds: Dealing with helpful commentary from the rail

A recent post on the Chronicle forums addressed the issue of dealing with railbirds, or "helpful commentary" from the folks on the sidelines...

"A trainer once said to my friend (an advanced level eventer), 'You just tell them, these stirrups are adjustable.'"

    I might have to borrow the come back of "these stirrups are adjustable" and will tweak it for various situations.
